Square's strength for independent restaurants is the speed of setup and the openness of the platform. UpKiosk plays into that: a kiosk that reads and writes through Square's official APIs, with no middleware to maintain and no second menu to keep in sync.
Menu items, modifiers, prices, taxes, discounts, all live in Square. UpKiosk reads them live and renders them on the kiosk. When a customer orders on the kiosk, the ticket lands as a regular Square order, hits your kitchen display the same way as a counter order, and shows up in the same end-of-day reporting.
For multi-location Square accounts, each kiosk is scoped to a specific Square location. Central admin in Square, the right menu on the right kiosk, no manual config per device.

How does UpKiosk connect to Square?
Via Square's official APIs with an OAuth-scoped connection from your Square account. No middleware, no second login, no additional software to install. Your menu and transactions live in Square; UpKiosk reads and writes through the API.
Does UpKiosk replace my Square hardware?
No, UpKiosk adds a self-ordering kiosk alongside your existing Square setup. Your counter Square Register or POS keeps working for in-person orders; the kiosk handles self-service. Both feed the same kitchen and reporting.
Are kiosk orders separated in my Square reporting?
By default they appear as regular orders tagged 'kiosk'. If you want strict separation in reporting, we can configure a dedicated revenue category per kiosk during setup.
Is there a setup fee for the Square integration?
No. The native Square integration is included in the monthly subscription. That covers initial menu import, API configuration, and live validation with our team.
Does UpKiosk work with Square's KDS and printers?
Yes. Kiosk orders flow through the same Square order pipeline, so they hit your existing Square KDS and printer routing exactly like a counter order would.
Is UpKiosk-for-Square self-serve to set up?
For single-location US Square customers without a partner intermediary, we offer a self-serve buy-now flow via Stripe Checkout. For multi-location, partner-mediated, or international setups, the standard reservation flow applies.
